Camp hours 9-3pm
What is Camp Circle Star?
Most children with special needs thrive on individual attention. That is what we provide at Camp Circle Star. 1:1 supervision is given to all our campers, so that they may explore, engage, and enjoy all the camp activities at the highest possible level. We feel that camper-driven experiences will be the most valuable to our kids, so we let them choose their own activities from many fun and exciting choices. Most of our campers also prefer individual activities to large group activities, so that is what we offer. We also limit the size of our camp to 10 campers per week, so as not to be too overwhelming for our kids. We pride ourselves with being a “custom-made camp” for your child. Each child’s experience will be unique and best suited to their individual needs and desires.
Swimming in our large pool under the watchful eye of a trained lifeguard, fishing off our dock, relaxing in the Sensory Room, fun in the Game Room, imagination and creation in the Art Room, fun with trains and cars in the Transportation Room, and good all around pie-in-the-face fun with their buddies are just some of the activities offered at Camp Circle Star. We will find the perfect recipe of enjoyment for your child.
Round trip transportation will be provided from St. Louis County with the help of professional drivers and passenger vans. Vans will leave the West County area at 8:00am and return at 4:00pm. Support staff will ride the vans as well, so our campers will have a fun and safe ride. Transportation is offered at an additional cost of $50/week. Families not using transportation may drop off and pick up their children at the Circle Star Ranch.
Our camp director and staff have many years of experience working with children with special needs. Our staff will supervise our volunteer buddies so we can be sure they are providing our campers with the appropriate amount of support and supervision. All water activities will be supervised by a trained lifeguard, and there will be staff members with CPR/First Aid Training and Medication Level ! training on site at all times.
Each week of camp is $350.00. Transportation is offered at an additional cost of $50/week. Financial assistance is available through UCP and the JCDDRB (for our Jefferson County Campers). Contact us at 314-402-4032 or firstname.lastname@example.org to register for camp.
At the EEF, we believe in modifying the environment to meet the individual needs of our campers and residents. We have found that if we change our approach, methods, or physically alter a camper’s surroundings, we set them up for success and enjoyment. Our goal is fun, contentment, and happiness. We achieve this through learning about our campers, adjusting our camp curriculum to meet their needs, and keeping the anxiety level low.
We are looking for volunteers to commit to volunteering for full camp weeks (M-F) from 8am-4pm each day. Transportation provided from the West County area. Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older. Training is provided. Download the volunteer application here. It will be an experience you will never forget!
